TV NEWS

Picture
An Emmy-Nominated journalist, I began working in local TV news in 1999. I used my college weekends to work as a studio camera operator and teleprompter operator. Thirteen years later, I have served as an assignment desk editor, reporter, anchor and producer.

My most recent experience is as  freelance reporter and then producer of Lowcountry Live at abc4, WCIV-TV, in the Charleston, SC TV market. Before that, I served as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter/producer in Harrisburg, PA.

For me, whether I am reporting or producing, local news is like putting a puzzle together – on a very tight deadline. Your show or individual story goes from concept to execution in a very short time. I enjoy the challenge: the tight writing, the creativity and the constant interaction with the public.

I very much enjoy being totally immersed in my community, living alongside residents and going through life with them, step by step while telling their stories.

Below, I have posted a small sampling of my on-air work. For additional content please click: www.vimeo.com/amykehm
